Of all the things, people and places used to represent this thing we call ‘love’,
I find it rather appropriate to sketch out love as a case, with a twist.
§
A case that can be as common and harmless as an outbreak of a cold or as lethal as a murder case.
It occurs in specific setting or settings and timing can be critical. The investigators a.k.a agents star in this fascinating case, as they seek to unravel and solve the mysterious case of love.
It can be one of their most celebrated and prized cases or it can prove to be an X-File, which leads the agents to nowhere leaving them confused and grasping what went wrong, even as years went by.
For the fortunate ones, they simply move on, ready to take the next case.
§
Often, the agents, especially undercover ones, communicate through codes understood only by his/her partner agent or make use of affectionate pseudonyms such as ‘honey’, ‘dear’ or in my case, ‘myluv’.
The motives vary, depending on their priorities and objectives. It can be love itself, a fit of passion, a mistakable love for money or a combination of all.
The weapons used can reach far beyond the material world and imagination.
Then of course, there are those who stood as eyewitness to their case, some offering opposing views, some completely agreeing to the evidence presented by the agents.
Evidence can be a subtle as the whiff of air passing beneath our noses or as apparent as the face you see in the mirror everyday.
The line of suspects can be situational or personal, internal or external.
Let’s not forget the snapshots taken at the crime scene that can also serve as very memorable evidence, indelibly imprinted on the agents’ minds and can leave them jumping for joy, or tossing and turning on their beds at night.
§
In one way or another, we have been part of such a case and have played different roles in each case we encounter. Some of us have served as collaborators, some as unsuspecting eyewitnesses, while for most, we remember ourselves as the skillful agents or the amateur sleuths.
§
I
created this site to document my own case online, the ‘JC Files’, also known
as CASE # 80401, neatly stacked among billion others in the FBIL Files or the
Friends Become Intimate Lovers Files. Investigate, uncover and you be the judge
to deliver the verdict!
